Everyday Cleaning
Keeping your LVT flooring clean is genuinely simple. For day to day maintenance, a soft bristle brush or microfibre dust mop is all you need to remove loose dirt, dust, and grit. This is the most important habit to get into — fine grit particles are the main cause of surface dulling on vinyl flooring over time, and sweeping regularly prevents them from being ground into the wear layer underfoot.
For a deeper clean, a damp mop with warm water and a small amount of pH neutral floor cleaner is ideal. Our 0.5mm wear layer gives the surface a hard, smooth quality that resists dirt embedding — a light mop and your floor will look fresh and clean in minutes. Avoid soaking the floor with excessive water, and always wring your mop out well before use.
Protecting Your Floor
Our SPC flooring has a 0.5mm wear layer that puts it in light commercial specification — it's tough, scratch resistant, and designed to handle the demands of a busy home. That said, a few simple precautions will keep it looking its absolute best for longer.
Fit felt pads to the legs of all furniture, particularly chairs and sofas. Hard furniture feet — especially metal ones — can mark even a scratch resistant surface under sustained point pressure. Felt pads distribute that weight and protect the wear layer effectively. Check and replace them periodically as they wear down over time.
Use a doormat at all entrances to trap grit and dirt before it reaches your vinyl flooring. The majority of surface wear on LVT flooring comes from fine particles being tracked in from outside — a good doormat makes a significant difference. Avoid rubber backed mats directly on the flooring surface as they can discolour it over time.
When moving heavy furniture or appliances, always lift rather than drag. Use furniture sliders if you need to reposition something heavy across the room.
Underfloor Heating
Our LVT flooring is compatible with water-fed underfloor heating systems, making it a practical choice for kitchens, bathrooms, and open plan living spaces where underfloor heating is increasingly common. To keep your underfloor heating compatible flooring in the best condition, avoid rapid temperature changes — bring the system up and down gradually.
