Product Questions
SPC stands for Stone Plastic Composite. It's a rigid core flooring built from a blend of limestone powder and PVC, making it one of the most stable and durable floor types available. Unlike traditional LVT, SPC has a hard core that won't flex underfoot, handles temperature changes without expanding or contracting significantly, and is 100% waterproof throughout its entire construction. It's an ideal choice for any room in the home. Read our full guide to SPC flooring.
LVT stands for Luxury Vinyl Tile. It's a multi-layer flooring product designed to replicate the look of natural materials like wood and stone while being far more practical in everyday use. All Elba Luxe flooring is rigid core SPC LVT, combining the visual appeal of luxury vinyl with the added durability and stability of a stone composite core. Read our full guide to LVT flooring.
Yes — completely. Our SPC flooring is waterproof throughout its entire construction, not just at the surface. Every layer, including the stone composite core, printed design layer, wear layer, and integrated underlay, is made from materials that don't absorb water. This makes it genuinely suitable for bathrooms, kitchens, utility rooms, and any other area that sees regular moisture. Read more about how our flooring is waterproof.
Our flooring features a 0.5mm wear layer, which puts it in light commercial specification territory. In a domestic setting this means it's highly resistant to everyday scratching from foot traffic, pet claws, dragged chairs, and furniture. We recommend fitting felt pads to furniture legs and using a doormat at entrances to keep the wear layer in the best possible condition for longer. Read more about our 0.5mm wear layer.
Yes, our SPC flooring is compatible with water-fed underfloor heating systems. Keep the surface temperature below 27°C at all times and bring the system up and down gradually rather than switching between extremes. Please note our integrated underlay is not suitable for electric underfloor heating systems — if you have electric UFH please contact us before ordering and we can advise.
Absolutely. Because our flooring is 100% waterproof throughout, it's perfectly suited for bathrooms, kitchens, utility rooms, and any other wet or high humidity area. You can fit the same floor throughout your entire home without compromising on practicality in the wet areas.
The wear layer is the clear protective coating on top of the printed design layer. It's the only thing standing between your floor and everyday wear — scratches, scuffs, and foot traffic. A thicker wear layer means more durability and a longer lifespan. Our 0.5mm wear layer is significantly thicker than entry-level LVT which typically uses 0.2mm or 0.3mm, and is the specification recommended for light commercial use. Read more about wear layers.
Ordering & Samples
Yes — we offer free XL samples delivered straight to your door so you can see and feel the quality of our flooring in your own home before you commit to an order. We'd always recommend ordering samples first, particularly if you're unsure about a colourway. Get in touch at sales@elbaluxeflooring.co.uk to request yours.
Measure the length and width of your room in metres and multiply them together to get your square meterage. We'd recommend adding 10% to your total to account for cuts and waste — particularly in rooms with lots of angles or doorways. Read our full guide to calculating how much flooring you need.
Yes — if you find the same product at a lower price from another UK retailer, get in touch at sales@elbaluxeflooring.co.uk and we'll do our best to match it.

Yes, we deliver to all mainland UK addresses. Additional surcharges may apply for Scottish Highland, island, and Northern Ireland addresses — this will be shown clearly at checkout before you complete your purchase.
All orders are carefully packaged to protect the flooring in transit. Please inspect your order carefully upon arrival and before signing for it. If any packaging appears damaged, make a note with the courier and contact us at sales@elbaluxeflooring.co.uk as soon as possible.
Installation
Yes — our Uniclick click system is designed to make installation as straightforward as possible. Most confident DIYers can fit a room in a day. You'll need a hammer, knocking block, Stanley knife, and square edge — no adhesive, no specialist tools. Read our full installation guide.
Our SPC flooring can be laid over most existing subfloors including concrete, screed, timber, and existing hard flooring, provided the surface is clean, dry, flat, and structurally sound. The subfloor should not deviate by more than 3mm over a 1.8 metre span. Do not lay over subfloors with active moisture issues.
No — every plank in our range comes with integrated underlay already attached to the back. There's nothing extra to buy or fit. Simply unbox and start laying. Read more about our integrated underlay.
In most cases yes, provided the existing floor is flat, firmly fixed, and in good condition. Loose, uneven, or damaged existing flooring should be repaired or removed before laying. Never lay over more than one existing layer of flooring as this can cause instability and affect door clearances.
Returns
We offer a 30 day returns policy on all orders. If you're not completely happy with your purchase, contact us within 30 days of delivery and we'll arrange a return. Items must be in their original, unopened packaging and in a resaleable condition. Read our full returns policy.
Items must be returned in their original, unopened packaging in a fully resaleable condition. We're unable to accept returns on packs that have been opened, cut, or laid. We'd always recommend ordering free samples before purchasing to make sure you're happy with the colourway.
Return postage is at the customer's expense. We recommend using a tracked and insured courier service as we're unable to process refunds for items lost or damaged in transit on the way back to us. If your order arrived damaged or faulty, please contact us at sales@elbaluxeflooring.co.uk within 48 hours and we'll resolve this as a priority.
