What You'll Need
One of the things we love about our click flooring is how little you need to fit it. Here's your full tool list:
A pull bar is also useful for tapping the final row of planks into place where a hammer and knocking block can't reach. Spacers for maintaining your expansion gap around the perimeter of the room are recommended too.
Before You Start
Good preparation is the difference between a floor that looks professional and one that causes headaches down the line. Before you open a single pack, work through the following.
Check your subfloor carefully. It should be clean, dry, flat, and structurally sound. Our SPC flooring will tolerate minor undulations but the subfloor should not deviate by more than 3mm over a 1.8 metre span. Any high spots should be ground down and any dips filled with a suitable floor levelling compound before laying begins. Do not lay over subfloors that are damp or have active moisture issues.
Remove all skirting boards and door architraves before you begin, or alternatively undercut them to allow the flooring to slide beneath. Our flooring is a floating installation and must be free to expand and contract slightly — it should never be fixed, glued, or pinned to the subfloor.
Underfloor Heating
Our SPC flooring is compatible with underfloor heating systems. For water-fed systems, ensure the system has been running for at least two weeks prior to installation and turned down to a maximum surface temperature of 27°C before laying begins. Turn the system off 24 hours before you start and bring it back up gradual
